Del creador de Brazil y 12 Monos, Miedo y Asco en Las Vegas es una película que puede llamarse bizarra, excentrica, extravagante, satírica, loca, cualquier cosa, menos convencional, si lo que Terry Gilliam quería era, captar la atención del espectador hasta el punto de repelerlo o encantarlo, creo que lo logró, esta es de esas peliculas que no dan lugar a puntos intermedios, o te gusta o la odias.Es 1971 y en un descapotable rojo se conducen Raoul Duke (Johnny Deep) y su abogado Dr. Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro) rumbo a Las Vegas a cubrir un evento de motocross en el desierto para una revista deportiva, viaje el cual se desvia de su intención original y se convierte en excusa para la ingesta excesiva de todo tipo de drogas alucinógenas, actos fraudulentos y depravaciones, desde que llegan a la ciudad se involucran en una serie de aventuras energizados de manera sintética por sustancias que van desde el éter hasta el adrenocromo, el espectador no tiene otra mas que dejarse llevar por las lisérgicas, absurdas y surreales escenas que se le presentan; personajes misteriosos y extraños, situaciones hilarantes, e incluso repulsivas son las que nos entrega Gilliam durante casi dos horas...
Basada en la novela de Hunter. S. Thompson, “Miedo y Asco en Las Vegas: Un Salvaje Viaje a el Corazón del Sueño Americano”, esta película es una digna adaptación del libro original, una critica dura en forma de comedia negra a la forma de vida americana, o el comúnmente llamado “Sueño Americano”, cabe también destacar que el sountrack es exquisito incluyendo temas de Jefferson Airplane, The Yardbirds y The Youngbloods entre otros...

Ok.. finally I sat down and decided to comment on that movie. And like I said, I have many mixed up thoughts about it, so I try to make it as short as possible :P
I have to admit that the first time I saw Fear and Loathing I was very confused in how much I liked what I saw (as I am not very famliar with the drug culture), so I decided to have another round. During the second watching I came up with many many (silly?) questions, that I am not going to publicise here :D I got some answers from my dear friends Google and Wikipedia, but just to some of my questions(jiji).
Fear and Loathing in LV belongs to my faves now, not just because Depp`s amazing acting, but because of the storyline and the credible special effects when talking about the drugged characters and the word through their eyes, which was kinda funny to see tbh :D Very entertaining, indeed!
Indeed, a movie that cannot be overlooked, one of the best characters of Depp satirizing the american dream in the view of the 60´s subculture hand in hand with the eternal coexistence of art and drugs, madness and creation, thanks for the comment G, and remember that the book can't be skipped either ; )
